Biography

I was born in New York City when the Sun was in Libra. In true Libran fashion, I enjoy getting to know people and the dramas of their lives, I consider my work Libran bliss! The nature of the scales is evident in my readings and in my approach to life. I believe in miracles but am realistic. I rejoice at a world-wide spiritual awakening but observe that most of the planet is still relatively asleep. I do believe that we are endowed with an inherently spiritual nature, but recognize the challenges of living on earth. When we are spiritually practical, making the most of what we have, we live in peace despite the severity of karmic circumstances.

Kathie Garcia

I was born with Jupiter in Aries so I have the markings of a pioneer. An astrological publisher o nce commented to me that I was among the first to state that the prophesy of astrology is not set in stone. Jupiter in the 1st house describes my temperament as being essentially positive in nature. People say, "tell me if it’s good or bad." Although I know well that certain cycles, even moments, test our very souls and usher in major challenges, I answer "it's all good because it's yours."

Together we identify the challenges as well as the strengths and graces and explore how we can maximize the positive returns and minimize the impact of returning heavy karma or turn it around before it comes into physical manifestation. We consider how to make what might otherwise be thought of as a negative work for us; for example, some believe that Saturn in the 2nd house of money limits income, but in truth, those with this position may know what it means to go without but tend to achieve financial security through sustained effort and hard work.

I admit that with Jupiter in Aries in the 1st house, I can get all fired up and want it to happen now, but after so many years of observing the working out of cycles, I’ve come to respect the nature of time and space, illusory but real, in our lives. This balance is evident in that my natal Jupiter opposes my natal Saturn conjoined my Sun in Libra. The heart is the key, I have found, to achieving equilibrium between opportunity and responsibility.

I have Pisces Rising. Naturally, I’ve always found it easy to place myself in another’s shoes. But I believe we never get a test we’re not capable of passing, with honors! My Ascendant trines Uranus at 13 degrees Cancer – even as a child, I psychically “knew” much that was hidden. I have spent years elevating that inner gift to function as true intuition rather than psychic impulse. Astrology, for me, is sacred, but is science, sacred science. I seek to confirm, never to replace your own inner guide!  Like any Piscean person, I’ve learnt the importance of drawing boundaries. In a reading, I seek to describe the celestial terrain, the nature of what was, what is and what could be happening in your life. The rest is up to you.

Natal Mercury sextile Uranus lends me, of course, to astrology.  Over the years I've developed a gift for identifying patterns in a chart and in a life; this helps my client grasp the dynamics of  their life experience, and how conscious self-guided change can occur. With natal Mars sextile Neptune and natal Neptune sextile Pluto, I have thirsted for as long as I can remember for truth and have, since early adulthood, immersed myself in studying metaphysics and the world’s mystical traditions.

My Moon is in Leo in the 5th house of children, pets and dramatic self-expression. Despite the seriousness of my Sun/Saturn conjunction, When I wrote Child*Star, published by Matrix Astrological Software, in 1991, I brought my knowledge of astrology and my passion for writing and for counseling together with my observance as a mother of four and of spending 8 years as a Montessori Teacher in the classroom. I kner Child*Star would prove to be an invaluable tool for many parents in understanding their child.

My love for Hispanic Culture began at age 14 when I visited Mexico for the first time. In my twenties, I lived seven years in Mexico. My husband, Manuel, is from a small island off of CanCun. We live in beautiful Montana in a spiritual community, with our eleven year old daughter, Elizabeth, and our rambocous chocholate Lag, Tabor.

I love meeting people from all different backgrounds and nationalities. I have read for newborns and for wise centegenarians. My twin sons, now almost 25, were born two minutes apart so their charts are identical. But while many events in their lives coincide, such as receiving a promotion, and many of their tests have been similar, observing them has taught me that no two souls are alike. The choices we make, the destiny we inherent, the nature of the times themselves; in the midst of it all it is exciting to perceive the spark of individuality, of divine purpose. We can all come up higher.

I strive to give my client the next step (or leap) forward, from wherever that soul finds him or herself at the moment. The opportunity for self-realization and for self-transformation is exciting when perceived and grasped. For some, just choosing to choose is a beginning!
